Searcy County Historical Society Meeting

The Searcy County Historical Society will meet Friday, August 22, in Marshall’s First Christian Church at 7:00 pm. The guest speaker, James Troy Massey, is a talented presenter who will tell the story of Benjamin Franklin Taylor. Taylor, who lived for a while in Snowball, belonged to the Peace Society, was a Union cavalry captain, state representative, owned a sawmill and gin, and was a federal marshal. He was also Troy’s wife’s ancestor. An interesting topic and a gifted speaker makes for a very interesting evening. All are invited. Coffee and nibbles will be available.
