Heavy Rainfall means flooding for SC

On Tuesday, July 16 the beginning of the rain that continued on way until the next morning of July 17. Several inches fell across the state causing severe flooding in places around the county. A number of roadways and creeks were impassable due to the rushing water. Road crews worked diligently to clear roadways of debris and fix culverts so water could pass through. Pictured above is one of the roads that was being cleared by ARDot.

South Mountain / Nubbin Hill news

July 17th Well, hope you are all well, and not washed away! We are all good here, but some places sure got a lot of rain. I think we had 3 ½ inches. A real good rain, even though it was heavy at times. It did wash our road some. Cooler temperatures for sure too. That sure is nice, and sounds like it will be in the 80’s for several days.

UCA announces May 2024 graduates

The University of Central Arkansas held spring commencement on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the Farris Center on campus. The university conferred approximately 1,600 undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and the Graduate School.
