Annual North Arkansas Ancestor Fair

On Friday, May 31 started the 33rd annual North Arkansas Ancestor Fair at the Los Locos Restaurant for their mixer dinner. On Saturday June 1, at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall there were different booths set up around the building. Family historians, historical/genealogical societies, libraries and descendant organizers sharing information and helping researchers. Pictured above is James Johnston’s table showing a wide variety of books on Searcy County.

Is it Heat stroke or heat exhaustion?

Toll Road Robotext Scam

Attorney General Tim Griffin issued the following statement alerting consumers to a scam that has recently made its way to Arkansas: “A new texting scam has reached Arkansas. Under this ‘smishing’ scam—a combination of ‘SMS’ (texts) and ‘phishing’— scammers attempt to steal consumers’ personal information and trick consumers into handing over funds by impersonating a state toll service.

Witts Springs news

The rain has been nice. I did not get the yard mowed last week. I had to go to Russellville on Thursday, and did not have time to get the mowing done when I got back. The bad storms have broken up and went around us so far.
