MHS Seniors Receive Scholarships

The Searcy County Junior Premium Livestock Auction presented scholarships in the sum of $500 each to Marshall High School Seniors, Justin Deckard & Zoe Watts at Class Day. To be eligible for this scholarship the recipient must have exhibited livestock at the Searcy County Fair during their High School career. This scholarship is funded by silent Auctions held on Saturday morning just before & during the Premium Sale at the Searcy County Fairgrounds.

The rains held off today so got lots of flowers planted. Lifts one’s spirits to plant and see how pretty everything will look. The seeds are coming up and I don’t jinx my okra, but it’s coming up gangbusters. Hope to have all I need and all my friends and neighbors can use. Course for the last 3 years could have enjoyed the okra. Better not happen again, I’ll be cranky plus.

Hello to all of you Marshall Mountain Wave readers and greetings from the Jewel of the Ozarks, Leslie, Arkansas. We have had some quite pleasant weather this past week. Although very rainy and wet the temperatures have been cool in the mornings and warming up to around the 70s in the afternoon. It does however get a little muggy where it feels about 10 degrees hotter than the actual temperature, something to get used to Summer is coming. Until then I am going to enjoy this cool rainy weather.

Hope that all mothers had a really good Mother’s Day. Thanks Melissa. Melissa helped me down at the garage to move all of the mud out of the drain by the garage doors. The water and mud ran through the garage. I have two cars there. Melissa moved some tree limbs off of the bridge so we could get out and go to town.
