The Snowball Adventure Race

Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime! The Snowball Adventure Race is the only one of its kind to be hosted in Searcy County, Arkansas. This adventure will start with a 6 mile run to the Margaret White area on the Buffalo National River, only a few hills, all gravel and great scenery. You will then jump in your boat for an 8.5 mile float down the beautiful Buffalo River to the Tyler Bend launch area. You will then pick up your bicycle at the Tyler Bend Pavilion and start the 11.5 mile gravel journey back to Snowball via the Ozark Grinder Trail. The bike portion has a few uphills, lots of gravel and amazing views of the Buffalo River.

Searcy County All-Conference Players

We are thrilled to recognize Tate Kelly, Dylan Tyler, and Mason Gregg for their selection as All-Conference players for the Bobcat 2A-2 team. Congratulations Benny Davis

On Jan. 19 at 3 pm citizens of Leslie, Arkansas celebrated Benny Davis’s retirement at the Ozark Heritage Arts Center. The ceremony consisted of thanks from many different people. In person, Mayor Eric Jaeger, Talitha Hardin and State Representative Stephen Walker spoke of their thanks and gratitude towards Davis and all that he did for the community of Leslie. In addition, letters from Senator John Bozeman, Senator Tom Cotton and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders were presented at the ceremony.

Congratulations to Our Spelling Bee Winners

Another fantastic Searcy County Spelling Bee in Marshall today as Marshall 8th grader Caleb Mainord took 1st Place after 16 rounds and 57 total words! 2nd Place went to Claire Whitelaw, a Leslie Intermediate School 5th grader, and third to Samuel Beckwith, a Marshall 7th grader! Three other finalists represented St. Joe Elementary and the Ozark Mountain School District, Kingston Hill, Kylee Berkley, and Karma Saxon! Congratulations to all of these champion spellers! Caleb Mainord now progresses to the Arkansas State Championship on 8 March! Thanks to Pronouncer Tammy Decker, Judges Dorothy Taylor, Shantal Fikes, and Heather Knapp, Program Coordinator Loni Kelley, and contest Sponsor the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce!

Searcy County Teen Racer

2024 has been an amazing year for Searcy County teen Keegan Younger. He has been tearing it up racing ATV bounty holes, ATV mud courses, ATV short courses, and ATV drag races. He was also on Discovery Channel’s Mud Madness episode “Blood is Thicker than Mud.” He is excited and looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings.
