He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 4, 1950 to Justice Lafayette Mize and Edna Frances Cotton Mize. He married Loretta Jones in December of 1973 and to this union were welcomed their children, Kristy Lee and Heath Devoe. They were married for 48 years before Loretta went to be with the Lord in January of 2022.
