Claude Lee Mize

Claude Lee Mize, age 73 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his home in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 4, 1950 to Justice Lafayette Mize and Edna Frances Cotton Mize. He married Loretta Jones in December of 1973 and to this union were welcomed their children, Kristy Lee and Heath Devoe. They were married for 48 years before Loretta went to be with the Lord in January of 2022.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and brother. He worked as a drywall hanger and finisher for most of his career. He also worked as a guide on the Buffalo and in his later years drove for Medicaid transport. He was most happy to be driving and taking road trips.

He was blessed to travel throughout most of the United States during his career. He was a talented musician and singer with the ability to play many instruments, such as the piano, guitar and harmonica.

Survivors include his twin sister, Maudie Douthit of Mablevale; brothers, Jim Mize (Karen) of Belton, MO and Ronald Mize of Marshall; sister-in-law, Alicia Mize of Marshall; children, Kristy Lee Morrison (Shane) of Marshall and Heath D. Mize (Amber), also of Marshall; grandchildren, Emily Brown (Justin) of Marshall, Justus Morrison (Halee Moore) of Leslie and Hailynn Harcrow (Trystan) of Marshall; greatgrandchildren, Kaison, Emery, Ada Mae, Byntleigh, Tryvyny, Aiden, Ryder and Harleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. He will also be missed tremendously by his family, many friends and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Justice and Edna Mize; wife, Loretta Jones Mize; brother, Donald Gene Mize; and brother-in-law, Wayne Douthit.

Funeral services for him were 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Roller-Coffman Chapel with Bro. James Mize and Bro. Marlon Douthit officiating. Burial was in McDaniel Cemetery near Snowball, Arkansas where he was laid to rest beside his wife, Loretta. Pallbearers were Bryon Kelley, Kenny Douthit, Michael Douthit, Justus Morrison, Kaison Brown and Justin Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Mize, Shane Morrison, Paul Loggins and Johnny Graham.
