Diana Hendricks

Diana Hendricks, age 69, of Atkins, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home. She was born September 5, 1954, in Russellville to Joe Earl and Bobbie Rae Shuck Maxwell.
She was a graduate of Russellville High School and received a Health Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 1976.
She taught school for 35 years. She started her teaching career at the Anna Strong Middle School in Lee County School District and also taught at Central High School in West Helena before moving to Searcy County and teaching at Marshall High School for the remainder of her teaching years.
She was very involved in the Methodist Church and held various local, district, and state offices in United Methodist Women.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Bret Hendricks of Atkins and Blake and Callie Hendricks of Mountain Home; daughter-in-law, Jill Hendricks of Atkins; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Randy Barefield of Russellville; grandchildren, Payten Hendricks and Hallie Hendricks; and a bonus grandchild, Emery Spears.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Hendricks.
The family welcomed all to attend the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tony Griffin officiating. Burial was private in Bowden Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Visitation will immediately follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Hendricks Memorial Scholarship Fund, an account set up at Arvest Bank. The scholarship will be rewarded yearly to a student graduating from Marshall High School.
