Doyle Kyle of Marshall

Doyle Lee Kyle, age 90 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home. He was born in Rock Springs, Arkansas on March 11, 1933 to Johnson Kyle and Madge McCarson Kyle.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He attended the Church of the Nazarene when his health permitted.

He was a life-long drywall finisher and was still doing drywall work for family and friends, even after his retirement.

He was a man with a very competitive spirit and loved to challenge his kids and grandkids in many sports and games. He did not like to lose. He was an excellent bowler and bowled with his drywall crew on a league. He spent many hours at the Searcy County Senior Center where his competitive nature prevailed while playing with the Senior Olympics, dominoes or any other game or sport that was offered. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and landscaping. He especially liked his Canada fishing trips. He always enjoyed family time and his presence will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children, Michael Kyle (Karen) of Clinton, Debra Campbell (Phillip) of Marshall and Beth McCallister (Steve) of Marshall; grandchildren, Michael Kyle Jr., Corey Kyle (Brittney), Jason Campbell (Ricki), Haley Loggins (Josh), Garrett McCallister (Ksusha), Evan McCallister (Andrea) and Trevor McCallister (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Toby Campbell, Lily Campbell, Anna Lee Kyle, Cade McCallister, Emma McCallister and Titus McCallister; brother, Charles Kyle (Judy) of Michigan; sisters, Carolyn Brightwell (Marvin) of Marshall and Lorene Drewry of Marshall; special longtime friend, Betty Abbs of Leslie; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnson and Madge Kyle; wife, Leola Pratt Kyle who passed away in 2007; brothers, Dale Kyle and James “Tebe” Kyle; sister, Darlene Curtis; and half-brother, Leslie Ragland. A private family graveside service will be held for him in East Lawn Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Leola with military honors. In lieu of flowers at the family’s request donations may be made to the Searcy County Senior Center, PO Box 806, Marshall, AR 72650 or the Searcy County Memorial Veterans Association, 108 Noah Horton Drive, Marshall, AR 72650.
