Eleanor Yancey of Marshall

Eleanor Yancey of Marshall, age 83, died June 28, 2023, at her home with her husband, Duane, Carolina Mendoza and the nurse by her side. She was born on April 19, 1940, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois to Wilson Gale Gardner and Avice Fink Gardner. She was raised in Cambridge, Illinois.
She was a great Christian lady. She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She worked alongside her husband in the bus ministry, was a youth leader, teacher in junior church, an amazing bible story teller and a wonderful church worker.
She claimed many bible verses as her own including but certainly not limited to Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
She helped her husband in his business and loved riding horses.
Survivors include her husband of 63 ½ years, Duane Yancey of the home; son, John W. Yancey of Marshall; grandson, Ben Yancey and wife Emily of Marshall; granddaughter, Christina Friend of Maryland; great grandchildren, Ivy Yancey of Marshall, Willow Yancey of Marshall and Tyler Logsdon of Maryland; brother, Richard Gardner of Lenoir, North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside services for her were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Dongola Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jim Arnold Jr. and Bro. Duane Yancey officiating. Pallbearers were Kenton Blair, Don Switzer, Jack Yancey, Danny Yancey, Willis Yancey and Ben Yancey. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Garner, Cash Harmon, Kent Coffey and Rob Woods.
