GLENDA FAYE HORTON

 Glenda Faye Holsted Horton, 86, of Marshall, Ark., entered into her resting place on February 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Leslie, Ark., on October 1, 1938, to Brewster and Iola Fendley Holsted.
 Glenda Horton was a 1956 graduate of Leslie High School. The following year, she married the love of her life, Willis Dale Horton, and worked alongside him for 64 years through family businesses including Roy Horton Chevrolet and DR Horton Homes. The second love of her life was horse racing. She and Willis Dale quickly ascended to the highest levels of this sport. They championed one Kentucky Oaks winner, three Kentucky Derby contenders, two Eclipse Award champions and two Kentucky stallions. Glenda was known and loved the world over throughout the horse racing community.
 Glenda’s most prestigious titles were “Mom” and “Nanny”. Survivors include one son, Kevin Horton and wife, Laurie of Marshall; granddaughters, Tressa DeMiranda and husband Ben of Fayetteville, Brandi Troillet and husband Grant of Greenbrier, Courtney Matyja and husband Shay of Vilonia; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Dale DeMiranda, Emma Pearl DeMiranda, Hudson Dale Troillet, Noah Matyja and Chloey Matyja; sister, Sharon Holsted Redman of Leslie; two sisters-in-law, Violet Horton of Clarksville, Texas and Wilma Horton of Morrilton.
 Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Brewster and Iola Holsted; husband of 64 years, Willis Dale Horton; and sons, Mark Cam Horton and Crandall Dale Horton.
 Graveside services for Glenda were 1 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2025, at East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall with Bro. Shirl Williams officiating. Bearers were Joe Carl Sullivan, Anthony Redman, Ben DeMiranda, Grant Troillet, Danny Bohannon and Kody Griffin.
