J.D. Grinder, age 84 of St. Joe, Arkansas died on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at NARMC in Harrison, Arkansas. He was born at Silver Hill in Searcy County, Arkansas on September 24, 1937 to Harvey Grinder and Myrtle DePriest Grinder. J.D. was married to Renetta Kuykendall.

He was raised on the Buffalo River at Grinder’s Ferry where his family shares many fond memories of him. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and he worked for many years as a bulldozer operator.

Survivors include his children, Beverly Chiarino and husband Robert of Mountain Home, Doug Grinder and wife Diane of Pindall, Becki Melton and husband Tom of Lead Hill, Steve Grinder and wife LeeAnn of Pindall and Rob Grinder and wife Sandy of Anderson Flat; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces, nephews and extended family who will also mourn his passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Myrtle Grinder; wife, Renetta Kuykendall Grinder who passed away in 2000; grandsons, Trenton Grinder and Brandon Manes; siblings, Aaron Grinder, Marie Still, Jack Grinder, E.G. Grinder, Bob Grinder, Harold Grinder, Howard Grinder and an infant brother.

Graveside services for him will be private. Burial is in Silver Hill Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Renetta.
