Jannie Griffin

Jannie Mae (Wells) Griffin died on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She was born on December 26, 1933, at Richland, Searcy County, Arkansas, the daughter of Ottie Wells.

She attended school at The Hall, Wyatt, and Snowball, where she met the love of her life, Clifton Griffin. They were married on November 24, 1954, in Harrison. To this union was born a son, Rickey Don Griffin. She and Clifton celebrated 65 years together before his passing in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her son in 2020; her mother; her sister, Jackie Wells; and her brother, Jimmy Joe Wells.

She was truly a “Proverbs 31 Lady”. She was a steadfast person that held the family together. She believed a family who prays together, stays together. She was a woman with great faith and was a very active member at Miracle Lighthouse Church for more than 55 years. She worked at Levi’s and retired from Wal-Mart.

When they wanted a special dinner at a restaurant or at the Griffin Café, they just called and Jannie and Clifton were eager to provide.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Gelica Griffin; brother, Bob Wells and wife Margaret, of Harrison, Arkansas; sister, Billie Brisco and husband Noland of Harrison, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Bernelle Arms, Mary Jo Griffin, and Lavina Griffin, all of Snowball; three grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and Robert Wilburn, Greg and Erin Jones, and Jason Jones; nine great-grandchildren; and special nephews and nieces, whom she considered to be their granny. Visitation was 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Roller Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Arvin Adams officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Wells, Nolan Brisco, Jim Brisco, Jacob Shrum, Blake Shrum, and Jimmy Wells. Honorary pallbearers were Dixie Shrum, Mitzi Wells, Joey Wells, Jim and Fredia Mulanax, Elbertia Jones, Freddie Watkins, and her caregivers, Gwen Patton, Billie Langston, and Laurene Trammell.
