Jo Ann Shrum Middleton, age 61 of Harriet, Arkansas departed this Earth on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Des Arc, Arkansas on January 2, 1962 to Wayne Shrum and Rosie Lee Grooms.

She was of the Baptist faith and loved being Nanny and Mom. Her greatest joys in life were her grandkids, her dog, Sadie, kids, camping, fishing, deer hunting and enjoying God’s country, in that order. Grans always came first. She proudly received her GED and retired from Micro Plastics. She then took up her full-time job that she dearly loved as simply being Nanny.

Survivors include Kenneth Dale Middleton Junior of Harriet; children, Bridget Hayford of Enid, Oklahoma, Shiela Jones (Kevin) of Harriet, Brittany Massey (Sam) of Harriet, Ashley Loyd (Justen) of Leslie, Hailey Middleton of Harriet and Amy Autry (Russell) of Harriet; brother, Ray Davis of Harriet; sister, Wilma Kyle of Marshall; grandchildren, Holly Hayford, Kenneth Hayford, Leeann Jones, Madison Jones, Alex Jones, Alyssa Middleton, Kalliegh Humphrey, Claudia Humphrey, Raeland Parker and Rose Lynn Loyd; and many, many nieces, nephews and people she considered family.

She is preceded in death by Angel, Sadie My Lady, sister, Nelsie Ramsey and brothers, Mack Dedman, Doug Davis and Claud Davis.

Funeral services for her were 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Rock Creek Community Building with Bro. Darin Holliman and Bro. John Watts officiating. Visitation was from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. The burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shiela Jones, Brittany Massey, Ashley Loyd, Hailey Middleton, Amy Autry and Alyssa Middleton. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Middleton, Bridget Hayford, Kevin Jones, Sam Massey, Justen Loyd, Timmy Middleton, Aaron Dye and Michael Dye.
