Kirk Redding of Harrison

Kirk Travis Redding, of Harrison, Arkansas died surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Hospice House. He was 69 years old.
The son of Glenn A. Redding and Erma (Weir) Redding was born in Anaheim, California on January 1, 1955.
He was a graduate of Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead, CA. He went on to graduate from Southern California College of Medical and Dental Careers in 1976 and has been a Certified Dental Technician since 1981.
He moved to Harrison in 1977 and opened his own dental lab in 1983, Creative Dental Lab, Inc., that he has held the position of President and CEO for over 40 years. He has been able to share his vast knowledge and valuable experience in the dental field with countless colleagues by guest speaking at dental conferences and instructing continuing education seminars. He was also the owner and operator of Vision Video stores in Harrison for 25 years.
He was a successful, hard-working businessman. He was a former President of Main Street Harrison, Kiwanis Club Member and Harrison Chamber of Commerce Member. He was active in the Coca-Cola Airshow when it was in operation in Boone County for many years. He was also a member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association).
In his youth, he was a child actor until the age of 18, appearing in several shows, commercials, and modeling ads. He was an avid motorcyclist, and enjoyed racing and has won many trophies and was an accomplished professional rider, being sponsored by MAICO out of Germany.
He was a self-taught computer technician and enjoyed working on them as a hobby. Kirk was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at the lake or the ocean. He also enjoyed traveling and vacations with family, surfing, and hosting barbecues.
More than anything, he loved his family. He always put his family and the needs of others first. He gave jobs to nearly every family member at one point or another and would gladly do anything for anyone. His grandkids were his world, and his grandkids, nieces, and nephews loved to come to his house to swim and Kirk would make his famous pancakes for them the next morning for breakfast. He also adored his fur baby, Bella, she followed him everywhere.
He was loyal and devoted. He was never one to have idle time, always trying to stay busy with his own hobbies, or doing for others. His kind and compassionate sprit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Missy Redding; mother, Erma Redding; daughter, Christy Gales and husband, Chris; grandsons, Dominic Gales and Dante Gales; granddaughter, Sam Gales; siblings, Trudy Redding, Glenn Redding and wife Kathy, and Chris Redding and wife Jamey; father-in-law, Dwane Williams; sisters-in-law, Cindy Sexton and husband Scot, and Shawnna Fortner and husband Dale; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Redding and mother-in-law, Carolyne Williams.
Graveside service was at 2 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2024 at Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating. The visitation was Friday, May 3, prior to the graveside service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Dominic and Dante Gales; and nephews, Austin Redding, Clark Rudelis, Ashton Sexton, and Alan Sexton. Honorary pallbearers were his employees of Creative Dental Lab.
