Lonnie Griffith of Marshall

Lonnie Griffith, age 76 of Marshall, Arkansas died peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Conway Regional in Conway, Arkansas surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of hard work and simplicity. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on November 17, 1946 to John William Griffith and Lena Mae Parks Griffith. He grew up on South Mountain in a house full of love.

He dedicated several decades of his life to the road construction industry, where he was a skilled foreman and bulldozer operator.

He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially South Mountain. He found solace in this special place, spending countless hours driving the backroads and stopping to visit with others and share his infectious laugh. The simplicity of these moments brought him immense joy, and it was in these serene settings that he felt most at peace.

While he was accomplished in his career and enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest joy came from the love he shared with his children and grandchildren. He taught them the value of hard work.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may we carry on his legacy of leading a simple life filled with love, laughter, appreciation, and devotion to family. “Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.”

Survivors include his children, Gene and Jennifer Griffith, Matthew Griffith and Crystal Turney and Eric and Jennifer DePriest, all of Marshall; three sisters, Rebecca Ashley, Kathleen Barnett and Betty Einhellig; and grandchildren, Logan DePriest, Ally DePriest, Daniel Griffith, Jordan Pinson and Taylor Harvey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Griffith; and brothers, Andy Griffith, Gene Griffith, William Griffith and Jimmy Griffith.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating the life of hime. Graveside services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Rambo Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Gary Kirkendoll officiating. Friends and family served as pallbearers.
