Loretta Mize of Marshall

Loretta Mize, age 73 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on November 20, 1948 to Hoyt Devoe Jones and Dane Harris Jones.

She was a member and attended the South Mountain Freewill Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and worked for over 40 years at Flintrock Shirt Factory. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She loved to go on jeep rides and liked to go on shopping trips to Branson with her sister, daughters and granddaughters. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to Tunica, Mississippi and loved her many trips to Memphis with her best friend, Carolyn Morrison. She was an avid Elvis fan. She loved her family dearly and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. Her family loved her so much and will sorely miss her strong presence in their lives.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Claude Mize of the home; children, Kristy Lee Morrison (Shane) of Marshall and Heath D. Mize, also of Marshall; grandchildren, Emily Brown (Justin) of Marshall, Hailynn Harcrow (Trystan Barker) of Marshall and Justus Morrison (Halee Moore) of Leslie; great-grandchildren, Kaison Maddox Brown, Emery Jolea Brown, Ada Maelynn Brown, Byntleigh Shelby Barker and Harleigh Jean Moore; sister, Lena Kelley (N.A.) of Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will also mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Dane Jones; and brother, Jimmie Jones.

Funeral services for her were 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Chapel with Bro. James Mize officiating. Visitation was 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. preceding the service. Burial was held in McDaniel Cemetery near Snowball, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Kenny Douthit, Bryon Kelley, Dustin Kelley, Paul Loggins, Michael Hammer and Tubby Myatt. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Mize, Justin Brown, Kaison Brown, Michael Douthit, Marlon Douthit, Kevin Douthit, Shane Kelley, Dillion Kelley, Mickey Hammer, Cody Kelley, J.P. Loggins and Trystan Barker.
