Louis Smith of Harrison

Louis Carl Smith, of Harrison, died on Monday, April 8, 2024 at his home. He was 74 years old. The son of Coy Ray and Verdine (Ozell Reed) Smith was born on December 15, 1949 in Jasper, Arkansas.
He married Kathy Younger on June 15, 1984. He was a hard worker and retired from RockTenn after well over 35 years.
He enjoyed all aspects of yardwork from mowing and weed eating to cutting wood. His favorite hobby, lately, was peeling copper.
He also enjoyed watching wrestling and loved every minute that he spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kathy Smith; daughters and their husbands, Venita and Philip Parttridge and Sherri and Jason Long; grandchildren, Brandon, Louie, Logan, Ashlyn, Kynlea, and Leam; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Israel, Uriah, Aiden “Leroy” and Jade; brother, Sam Smith; sisters and their husbands, Nancy and Jim George, Janis and Harold Freeman, and Susie and Ricky Smith; brothers-inlaw, Wesley Sparks, Joey White, and Dairl Campbell; sisters-in-law, Frances and Jackie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Laveta Larson; grandson, Justin McCutcheon; his parents; brothers, Gary, Kenneth, and Oscar; sisters, Barbara, Carolyn, and Mildred; brother-in-law, Kenneth Campbell; sisters-in-law, Janish and Lorene; nieces, Renee and Nadean; nephew, Nick; and his fur baby, Peaches Marie.
Visitation was Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
Funeral service was Friday, April 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Brother Kevin Cowan officiated. Burial was at Crossroads Cemetery at Deer. Pallbearers were Brandon Riddell, Louie Riddell, Logan Long, Jason Long, Travis Freeman, and Samuel Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Philip Parttridge, Ashlyn Long, Kynlea Long, Leam Long and his great grandchildren.
