Marjorie Parks of Marshall

Marjorie Jerlene Parks, age 89 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on July 6, 1932 to Conley Horton and Ada Tackett Horton.
She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist. She loved traveling and riding around Searcy County with her family. She also enjoyed going to yard sales.
She loved the local Daisy Queen and would go everyday if she was able. She was an excellent cook, especially chocolate rolls and fried pies.
She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb, whether vegetables or flowers, she could make it grow.
She never met a stranger. Her wonderful personality will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Robert Larry Parks and wife Kathy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Karen Cates and husband Steve of Cabot, Jimmie Don Parks and wife Marian of Harrison and Leisa Younger and husband Ray of Marshall; grandchildren, Bobby Parks of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Will Parks and wife Ashley of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Stephanie Taylor and husband Brandon of Cabot, Adam Younger of Russellville, Hannah Younger of Marshall and Becky Avey of Mountain View; great-grandchildren, Braden Avey, Cole Avey and one great-grandson on the way; special cousin, Coy Lee Horton and wife Sue of Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will also mourn her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Conley and Ada Horton; and sisters, Charlene Boyd and Monaco Caldwell.
Funeral services for her will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. John Myatt and Bro. Sean Milliken officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery. Bearers will be David O’Neal, Justin O’Neal, Jimmie Don Parks, Adam Younger, Ray Younger and Steve Cates. Honorary bearers will be Coy Lee Horton and David Nondorf. At the family’s request in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy Hospice, 702 North Main Street, Suite A, Harrison, AR 72601.
