Stephen Thomas Brown (formerly Vincent Almont Masoner), age 70, died at his home on March 9, 2024. He was one of 10 siblings and had 4 step siblings. He grew up in Pine Bluff, AR where he enlisted in the Army in 1971, at the age of 17. He retired after 20 years of service.

He was stationed in Germany, twice, Japan and for a short time in Korea. When he retired in 1991, it was from the Seneca Army Depot in upstate NY. He volunteered his time to the American Red Cross in Rochester, NY before moving back to Arkansas, in 2016.

Survivors include his wife, Kara Beach, sons Stephen Jr & Larry (Jackie), daughter Emily Cespedes-Brown (Graciel Juliarte); Brothers Lloyd (Virgina), Floyd, David, Eddie, Elmer “Andy”; sister Mary (Dr. Charles Spellman), several nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his birth parents, Fernie and Minnie Masoner, adoptive parents, Eva Lena and JT Brown, his sister Viola (Charlie Caldwell), brothers Troy and Darrell.

At his request there will be no calling hours or services. There will be a private scattering of ashes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, in Stephen’s memory.
