Thomas Mainord of Marshall

Thomas Darrell Mainord, age 71 of Marshall, Arkansas died on Monday, November 22, 2021 at his home. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on July 16, 1950 to Thomas Leon Mainord and Clara Duell Ward Mainord.

He had a Master’s Degree in Education. He taught high school public education for 40 plus years. He worked in Selma, Mountain View and retired from Marshall High School.

He enjoyed working for the US Forest Service at Blanchard Springs Cavern during the summer months. He was an avid Razorback fan. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Teaching the love of the outdoors to his grandson, Mason brought him much joy. He loved his daughter and grandchildren dearly. He was a devoted husband. Family meant the world to him. His strong presence will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Gail Parks Mainord of the home; his daughter, Megan Danielle McDaniel and husband Derek of Anchor Point, Alaska; grandchildren, Mason Thomas McDaniel, Sophie McDaniel and Madison McDaniel, all of Alaska; brother, Dewayne Mainord and wife Sheila of Marshall; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family who will also mourn his passing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Duell Mainord; and brother, Danny Mainord.

Funeral services for him was 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 26, 2021 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Duane Ragland officiating. Visitation was 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in the Chapel. Burial was at Canaan Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donnie Mainord, David Mainord, Jake James, Paul Loggins, Matt Treece and JR Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Mainord, Tim Parks, Mike Parks, George Parks, Bob Parks, Willie Parks, Jim Parks and John Parks.
